Opposition To More Houses
OBJECTIONS to proposals for a 35-house development have flooded in to South Bucks District Council

Residents living near the site at Arjo Wiggins believe the plans will cause a traffic nightmare and threaten the safety of schoolchildren. Two plans, submitted by Cala Homes, include proposals for new houses to be built on the site, in Wattleton Road, Beaconsfield. One of the applications would mean the demolition of Butlers Court and the construction of four office blocks with car parking. Outline consent for office units and housing was given in 1992 but the details have provoked criticism.

A meeting of Beaconsfield Town Council's Planning Committee on Wednesday heard grave concerns over both plans but the proposal which would leave Butlers Court standing was described as "the lesser of two evils".

Colin Hainsby, a resident of Wattleton Road for more than 20 years, has fought the development since 1991. He has sent 250 letters to the council from residents objecting to both plans and expressed disappointment at the council's decision. The residents believe both plans fail to comply with the outline consent granted in 1992.

Cala Homes refused to comment at the time of going to press

Is anyone else opposing CALA Homes' developments ?
